About

Hello and welcome to my work!

I'm Natalie, and I make jewellery :)

I have liked making jewellery ever since I was little, using bits of wire, beads, clay, and found objects (once turning a pair of sample perfume vials into earrings for an especially adventurous friend!) I loved trying as many materials as I could get my hands on. As a young adult, I departed from the arts, becoming a maths major and later working in the tech industry. After working digitally for many years, I started making handcrafts to heal and connect with the real world again. I haven't looked back since :)

All of my work is original and made by hand using the lost wax method, a very old technique which allows me to carve every detail by hand. I take care of the design, handcarving, stone-setting, and polishing of every jewel that goes out into the world, sourcing all of my supplies and materials as responsibly as possible. The only part I don't do is the metal casting — for this, I trust a brilliant local caster who takes excellent care of my work. If you're curious, you can learn about the specific techniques behind each of my designs here.

Although I enjoy other crafts and physical work to keep my hands busy, my favourite form will always be jewellery. I love the way that it can be enjoyed tangibly and personally — a piece of art small enough to accompany you wherever you go! Metal and stone are some of the longest-lasting materials around, so while designing and making your pieces, I think about how these materials and objects might be passed on and enjoyed into the future, shared from mothers to daughters, or friend to friend ❤️

Take care and thank you for stopping by :)

Natalie
